Born and raised in Montmartre, Paris, SisDee is a fiercely independent artist whose journey runs through jazz, soul, reggae, hip-hop, spoken word and gospel.From the streets and metro of Paris to jazz clubs, sound systems and international stages, she has built a life around music, improvisation, transmission and human connection.Founder of The Sound Sisters and honored as a Zulu Queen by the Universal Zulu Nation, her path has taken her from Paris to India, the Caribbean and Jamaica, where she is now based.For over 25 years, SisDee has been developing JAZZAMUFIN — her own musical language, where jazz meets raggamuffin, freedom meets groove, and the stage becomes a space for communion.Original. Her musical journey began with Afro-Cuban percussion in the streets and metro of Paris, before taking her through jazz clubs, reggae sound systems, soul and hip-hop sessions, and onto stages around the world.In 1992, her mentor Puppa Leslie took her to Jamaica for the first time.Back in Paris, she founded The Sound Sisters, the largest all-female French sound system ever created, which became part of Paris’ underground reggae culture.Over the years, SisDee worked as a songwriter, composer, performer and mentor, while creating spaces for transmission and collective expression through La Factory Afropéenne, The Swing & Soul Choir and We ❤️ Jam.In 2013, she was honored as a Zulu Queen by the Universal Zulu Nation.Between 2014 and 2020, music gave way to another kind of exploration. A three-year spiritual journey through India led her to become a yoga instructor, deepening the connection between music, spirituality and the human experience.After leaving France in 2021 and spending a year between French Guiana and Suriname, she found herself back in Jamaica — a country that had shaped and inspired her for decades.There, she returned to her essentials: writing, producing, performing and testing new music wherever there was a microphone and an audience.In 2024, she became the first independent French female artist to receive a Jamaican work permit.### ARTIST. Son parcours musical commence avec les percussions afro-cubaines dans les rues et le métro de Paris, avant de la mener vers les clubs de jazz, les sound systems reggae, les sessions soul et hip-hop, puis sur des scènes du monde entier.En 1992, son mentor Puppa Leslie l’emmène pour la première fois en Jamaïque.De retour à Paris, elle fonde Les Sound Sisters, le plus grand sound system féminin français jamais créé, qui s’inscrit dans la culture reggae underground parisienne.Au fil des années, SisDee travaille comme autrice-compositrice, interprète et mentor, tout en développant des projets dédiés à la transmission et à l’expression collective, tels que La Factory Afropéenne, The Swing & Soul Choir et We ❤️ Jam.En 2013, elle est honorée du titre de Zulu Queen par l’Universal Zulu Nation.Entre 2014 et 2020, la musique laisse place à une autre forme d’exploration. Un voyage spirituel de trois ans à travers l’Inde la conduit à devenir professeure de yoga, approfondissant le lien entre musique, spiritualité et expérience humaine qui traverse son travail.Après avoir quitté la France en 2021 et passé un an entre la Guyane française et le Suriname, elle retrouve la Jamaïque — un pays qui l’inspire et façonne son parcours depuis des décennies.Là, elle revient à sa base : écrire, produire, se produire sur scène et tester de nouvelles créations partout où se trouvent un micro, des artistes et un public.En 2024, elle devient la première artiste française indépendante à obtenir un permis de travail jamaïcain.ARTISTE.
